Oral History Training for Croydon Residents

Pollock’s Toy Museum have 6 free places to offer on an introduction to oral history one day course on Friday 3 May 2024.

The course will run from 10am – 4.30pm at Pollock’s Toy Museum Croydon Pop-Up.

Priority for places will be given to Croydon residents. The course will be delivered in person in central Croydon and we expect anyone who accepts a place to participate fully and stay for the full day.

The course will cover

  • Introduction to Oral History
  • Aims and objectives, who to interview and question planning
  • Choosing your recording equipment
  • Interview tips
  • Practice interview session
  • Introduction to documentation,: transcription, copyright, archiving

You are not required to deliver any oral history interviews for Pollock’s Toy Museum after the training but we hope you will consider helping with the museum’s oral history projects in future.
