We want Muffin, Muffin the mule!

Pollock’s Toy Museum is very pleased to have recently received a 1950s aluminium Muffin the Mule puppet. He has lost a back leg somewhere along the way, but his donors are hopeful it may yet turn up in other attic boxes.
Muffin joins his miniature metal friend Peregrine penguin in a TV themed box, together with books, and a card game featuring adventures with the other animal characters.
Muffin was originally made for puppeteer Ann Hogarth, but became a popular BBC children’s TV puppet character in a programme presented by Annette Mills from 1946-55.
The die-cast zinc Muffin puppet was made by Lesley Moko, and Peregrine was one of a series of Muffin characters made by Luntoy.
The snap-based card game was produced by Pepys in 1949, while the books are two in a series of six written by Anne Hogarth and Annette Mills in 1954-5.
